GFWC
North Pinellas Woman's Club

Next Meeting: Tuesday, October 17, 2017

Diverse in age, interests, and experiences, all clubwomen are united by a desire to create positive change in their communities.  With a grassroots approach that often thinks locally but impacts globally, North Pinellas Woman’s Club members remain committed to serving as a force for global good.

NPWC members work in their own communities to support the arts, preserve natural resources, advance education, promote healthy lifestyles, encourage civic involvement, and work toward world peace and understanding.

A Collect for Clubwomen

Welcome to GFWC North Pinellas Woman’s Club!

Dynamic, dedicated, and devoted are among the words used to describe the members of the General Federation of Women’s Clubs (GFWC) North Pinellas Woman’s Club (NPWC).  GFWC NPWC is a diverse group of over 100 women, ages 25 to 90,  who are actively involved in community improvement through volunteer service.

A desire to “make a difference”, to positively impact the community, meet innovative people and make new friends draws women to the club.  Our projects include, but are not limited to:

  • Working with children in the classroom – literacy is a major focus of GFWC.
  • Championing the arts keeping in mind GFWC’s slogan “Art for everyone.  Everyone for art."
  • Keep Pinellas Beautiful by adopting two miles of the Pinellas Trail and surrounding roads. We removed approximately 377 pounds of litter in 2015.
  • Each month we assist in preparing, serving, and cleaning up for Peace Café, a local outreach program. Our “Hoodies for the Homeless” project will allow us to give out 125 hoodies to our homeless friends celebrating the fact that GFWC is 125 years old.
  • Domestic Violence Awareness and Prevention is the national GFWC Signature Project that we energetically support.
  • Honoring and assisting veterans is an on-going project, a favorite of which is the Honor Flight program.
  • Operation Smile, United Nations Shot @ Life, and Heifer International are among the programs at the International level.

In addition to working on our varied and numerous projects, we have an active social life.  There are the Cooking Connection, Book Club, and Women on the Weekend among our social groups.  Of course, as friends we can always meet for coffee, lunch, dinner or whatever.  Movie anyone?

Don’t feel overwhelmed or intimidated by all of this activity.  Each member chooses the projects that interest her. No one can or should do it all.

Come visit us at our monthly meeting, and see where you fit into this organization.  We would love to meet you.  Together we can make a difference.

2017 GFWC NPWC President

GFWC clubs and clubwomen are the fabric that binds not only the Federation, but the communities in which they live and work. By Living the Volunteer Spirit, GFWC NPWC clubwomen transform lives each day, not simply with monetary donations, but with hands-on projects that provide immediate impact.

About North Pinellas Woman's Club

2017 Meeting Dates

Organizational History

Keep us, oh God, from pettiness;
Let us be large in thought, in word, in deed.

Let us be done with fault-finding
And leave off self-seeking.

May we put away all pretense
And meet each other face to face,
Without self-pity and without prejudice.

May we never be hasty in judgment
And always generous.

Let us take time for all things;
Make us grow calm, serene, gentle.

Teach us to put into action our better impulses;
Straightforward and unafraid.

Grant that we may realize
It is the little things that create differences;
That in the big things of life we are at one.

And may we strive to touch and to know
The great, common, human heart of us all.

And, Lord God, let us forget not to be kind.
